About the Executive

The Technical Textiles Executive is a group of 30 UK companies with a collective turnover of £350 million. Made up exclusively of industry leaders, it exists to ensure the UK retains a strong base in technical textiles manufacturing and is based around building individual company growth.

The group aims to increase the sales of its members by 8% annually. This is supported by an average R&D spend for member companies of 3%. To achieve this members of the TTE work together in a spirit of mutual self-interest. Here our some examples of some successes in our first year

  • One group member saving £10,000 on loom purchases through the sharing of knowledge with another during a site visit
  • Development of a new £100,000+ business between 2 member companies
  • A new capital purchase decision of £140K
  • Companies shared sales leads from Techtextil
  • Members overcoming historic suspicion of another member company and placing product finishing within them that was previously finished outside
  • Numerous commercial collaborative projects taking place between members based around trust built through informal communication
  • Pooling knowledge and resources to tackle common problems such as electricity costs and manufacturing waste
  • Management teams within companies helping each other to solve problems through the website forum
  • Lobbying group made up of industry leaders can bring key decision-makers together and make things happen

  • Commercial Group. Civil Engineering, Aerospace, medical groups aimed at increasing sales for member companies
  • Members benefiting from research carried out for members in Shanghai by the Chief Executive and a member’s agent
