The polyacrylate super absorbent chemistry, on which Oasis SAF is based, has been extensively tested to establish its safe for use status in application areas requiring a high degree of toxicity and regulatory approval. These studies include allergenicity, irritation, dermal, genetic, reproductive and ingestion research.

A range of fabrics containing Oasis SAF can be manufactured to exacting specifications, ensuring high in use integrity. Oasis SAF can be used within a range of specialist medical care application areas.

Food Packaging
Airlaid fabrics incorporating the Oasis SAF, provide a highly innovative and efficient means of keeping meat, fish, poultry and a whole range of perishable foodstuffs, packaged in optimised conditions. The versatility of Oasis SAF, allows for the design of fabric constructions which absorb and lock away excess liquid from the foodstuff within the SAF core. Oasis SAF airlaid fabrics can be cut and shaped to whatever size required, given the non migratory properties of Oasis fibre.

Oasis SAF is regulated by the United States of America Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for use as a fluid absorbent in food contact materials

Oasis Yarns
Oasis SAF can be converted into a yarn form via a wide range of spinning technologies. The yarns are produced utilising long staple versions of Oasis SAF, in blend with fibres such as Polyester, Polyamide, Rayon and Polypropylene. The Oasis SAF yarn applications are primarily for the cable industry, in which the swellable yarn is used as a means of water ingress blocking for telecommunication and power cables. Other areas include apparel and geo-textiles.

Oasis Tapes
Specialist nonwoven fabrics incorporating Oasis SAF have been developed, which offer significant swell height and absorption performance. Applications include use as a Cable tape and as a general sealant system for fluid transportation.
