Warp yarns must be wound on a roller or beam before weaving or warp knitting. In order to ensure the smooth operation of the loom and a fault free fabric it is essential that the warp yarn be wound uniformly. This is always an important process in fabric production but it can take on greater importance for the high modulus yarns such as aramids which are used for many technical applications.
